Bio

Mary is currently the Costume Shop Manager at Arizona Theatre Company, and has also served as the Costume Shop Manager or Coordinator for companies including the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (interim), the Montana Repertory Theatre (summer), Ballet Minnesota, and Opera Theatre at the University of Minnesota.

As a freelance Costume Designer, Mary’s designs include Assassins (Univ. of Montana), The American Clock (UMN/Guthrie), Waiting for Waiting for Godot (Loudmouth Collective),  A Wrinkle in Time (Lyric Arts), and  A Midsummer Nights Dream (Cincinnati Shakespeare Company) for which her work was voted Best Costume Design by Broadway World Cincinnati .  Nationally, she has held the position of Design Assistant for the Santa Fe Opera (Capriccio  and Die Fledermaus), Mill City Summer Opera (Daughter of the Regiment), and Hawaii Opera Theatre (Tosca).

As a Costume Technician Mary has had the pleasure of working with the University of Montana School of Theatre and Dance as a visiting professor, as well as companies including The Moscow Ballet, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, VStar Entertainment Group,  St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, and Stages St. Louis.

She received her MFA from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities.
